  1. When I first met Jeannie, we had just moved into the Timberline neighborhood on Northfield Road, next to Bobby and Gail Pierce. It didn’t take long to get to know the neighbors. It was a very friendly neighborhood. Before long, we were hanging on the deck at Bobby and Gail’s house, some of the other neighbors started walking over to visit and hang out as well. The very first time I met Jeannie was when she had walked over with her little boy Zach, who was about 5 years old at the time, and daughter Crystal, who was about 8. They were both so cute and were always smiling. I noticed how nice their teeth were! Jeannie was also cute with a nice big smile. She had a funny accent and I quickly learned she was from Utah and was Mormon. I thought, well that explains their beautiful big teeth and pretty smile, because I knew the Osmonds were from Utah and were also Mormon, and they also have big smiles, so it must be that ALL people from Utah who are Mormon have those same big pretty smiles. I didn’t really stop to consider how that could possibly be true, but I believed it at the time. I really liked Jeannie because she told such looong, funny stories of life in Utah and how she and Greg met and well, she had a funny accent and I just liked listening to her talk. I noticed too that she said “oh my hell” A LOT. I thought that was funny.

Anyway, the women of the neighborhood had planned a girls’ night out. Everyone who wanted to go was invited to see the Chippendale male dancers at The Sheraden in Cranberry. When Gail told me that Jeannie was going too, I was surprised a little bit because I got the impression that Jeannie was very prim and proper and maybe a little shy. Haha.

We got ourselves a good table at the nightclub inside The Sheraden, and the men came out and started doing the things that Chippendale dancers do. They hadn’t yet made it to our side of the club, when all of a sudden, I felt this high-pitched shrill of a whistle break my eardrums next to me. I turned around to look where the heck that sound came from and discovered it had come from Jeannie. She had 2 fingers in her mouth and she was blasting whistles louder than a fire alarm. She was summoning these dancers over to our table because there were some dollar bills that needed spending. Mind you, Jeannie did not have the dollar bills, the other ladies did. Jeannie was just the summoner. I think she also asked one of them what cologne he was wearing because I wanted to know (it was Eternity for men for the record). After that night, I never looked at Jeannie as being shy again. She tried to teach me to whistle like that with the 2 fingers in the mouth, but I never could learn. We laughed about that night for a long time afterwards.
